Process for Apply for Whatsapp Business API account via The ConvertWay

1. Overview of the entire process

Go to Settings >> Whatsapp Business Account



Step 1.1 - Setup and Verify Facebook Business Account Manager
In order to setup Whatsapp Business Account, you need to first create and verify your Facebook Business Manager Account. Follow the steps:
a. If you don’t have a Facebook Business Manager Account, you can Create One here.
b. If you already have a Facebook Business Manager Account, Go here to get it Verified.
c. Once verified you will see a Green Tick and Verified written as shown.

d. You need to take a Screenshot of the Verified Facebook Business Manager Account Info as shown below and upload it in the input fields in app.

Step 1.2 - Provide business details
Fill the short application form add Brand name & phone number (not previously registered on WhatsApp cannot be changed once approved) to be associated with your WhatsApp API account and other details mentioned in form & submit the application .
As shown below

Post submission application status will be marked Pending.
The form will be verified & takes 10-12 days.

Step 1.3 Verify ownership using OTP
After WhatsApp verifies the phone number and display name, the final step is to verify the ownership of the phone number using an OTP / verification code via SMS / IVR call , Shipway support team will assist during verification.

Step 1.4 Activate your own Whatsapp number
After WhatsApp verifies the phone number and display name, your application status will be marked Approved in SMS app Setting page & your number will be active .

2.Prerequisites for applying for Whatsapp business Number

Type of business: WhatsApp only allows certain type of businesses to apply for API access. You can read their policy to see whether you qualify here

Phone number: Phone number should adhere to guidelines given here.

Display name: Display name should adhere to guidelines given here

3.Messaging Limits

Messaging limits determine the maximum number of business-initiated conversations each phone number can start in a rolling 24-hour period.

If you reach your messaging limit, you can start more conversations as soon as one or more active conversations end. Messaging limits do not apply to user-initiated conversations.

There are four levels of messaging limits that apply to businesses that have completed Business Verification:
1,000 business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period.
10,000 business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period.
100,000 business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period.
Allows your phone number to have unlimited business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period
